Fueling Curiosity in STEM, Honoring the Spirit of the Candy Bomber
The Gail S. Halvorsen Aviation Education Foundation seeks to improve STEM literacy and capability in the K-8 age range. There is a lack of educational enrichment activities in our community. Our Aviation Education Center at the Spanish Fork Airport will be one of the first such enrichment facilities in the area.

AIRLIFT/TANKER ASSOCIATION SYMPOSIUM 2024
Airlift/Tanker Association ensures the USA maintains air mobility capabilities for national security. They focus on current capabilities and the history of mobility operations, including the 1948-1949 Berlin Airlift's Candy Bomber Story. The A/TA Symposium gathers nearly 4,000 military and aerospace leaders annually. A/TA also awards the Colonel Gail Halvorsen Award for excellence in aerial port operations.

* The Foundation continues Col. Gail Halvorsen’s mission to share the values that guided his 100-year life—"gratitude, hope, service before self, and little things add up to big things."
* The Foundation continues Gail’s legacy of service through community projects, programs, and partnerships with the Civil Air Patrol, Spanish Fork City, and Spanish Fork Airport.
* The Foundation is working to fulfill Gail’s mission to educate the next generation of aviators through the Mobile STEM Learning Center and programs in elementary schools.
* The Foundation carries on Gail’s legacy of inspiration through our speakers Bureau and the Halverson Heritage Center.
